Neena, in the company of her mom, and several female friends, travels to a remote holiday spot, and stay overnight at a lodge. A young man named Kumar also attends at this lodge, claiming to be the owner, and asking the caretaker, Shyam, to get rid of the intruders. Shyam assures Kumar that he will do so immediately. Instead of asking them to leave, he tells the visitors that Kumar is mentally unstable, and believes that he owns this lodge. After several misunderstandings, Kumar and Neena fall in love, and want to get married. And it is then Neena and her mother are come across photographs of Kumar and a young woman named Kamo alias Kamini, in very intimate positions.

Girdharilal lives a poor lifestyle in Delhi along with his wife, Geeta, and two daughters and a son. He works as a Money Order Clerk in the Post Office, earns Rs.110/- per Mensem, and wears a torn coat that his wife is tired of stitching. One day at work, he makes an error in a money order but does manage to fix it, collects his pay and returns home, refusing to drink alcohol with his co-workers, Sher Khan and Munnilal. He then sets out to buy some snacks and toys for his children and loses a 100 Rupee note. Unable to recollect where he lost it, he decides to kill himself but when he misses the train he returns home and confides in his wife. She assures him that she will manage somehow. He manages to borrow money, even finds a part-time job, to pay off his bills, but is unable to pay his electricity bill. One night he returns home and finds the pantry full. His mind distracted with doubts about his wife's character, he starts making mistakes at both his places of employment, and returns home to find his door locked, his wife missing, and his children playing outside. When he questions them about the whereabouts of their mother, they refuse to tell him. Shortly thereafter Sher Khan and Munnilal, concerned about their co-worker, find him near the railway tracks heading straight into an on-coming train. Sher manages to rescue him, and this is when he will tell them the devastating news that Geeta has taken to prostitution and he has killed her. Watch what impact this has on his employment, his children, and his friends.

Adivasi Mahua lives a poor lifestyle in a fishing village along with her widowed dad. One day the local Poojary comes across a seemingly menacing looking male, feeds him, and asks Mahua's dad to look after him. This male has no memory and they name him Kishan. Shortly thereafter Mahua and Kishan fall in love and get married. After about 2 months Kishan goes to the city and does not return home. A frantic Mahua and her dad go to the Police as well as to the city to search for him albeit in vain and return home. Mahua continues to worry about Kishan and sets out on her own to try and locate him. She meets with a doctor who informs her that he recalls treating a male fitting Kishan's description and gives her his Bombay address. Mahua travels to Bombay and locates Kishan's house. This is where she will find out that Kishan now calls himself Mohan Khanna, who is very wealthy, lives in a mansion but who now refuses to recognize her, and is about to get formally engaged to equally wealthy Meena Mehra.

Kumar, though of Indian origin, lives in Africa. He has recurring dreams of a Railway Station in India called "Viran Nagar". He decides to find for himself and travels to India along with his friend, Rocky. They are able to find Viran Nagar railway station, which is exactly as Kumar had dreamed of. When they go to find a ride, the locals shy away from them as behave as though they have seen a ghost. They find temporary accommodations and set out to discover the mystery behind Kumar's dreams. Then a young woman, Sapna, meets with Kumar, tells him that she has been awaiting his return, and now they can be together again. But Kumar has never been to this place before, and ends up even more confused. Then another local villager named Bansi tells them he had himself seen Kumar getting killed and buried in the nearby forest. Kumar and Rocky must now find out who was killed, and why the villagers believe that Kumar has returned from the grave.

Sunil lives with his mom and sister in a middle-class dwelling in Delhi, India. He works for Chopra & Co., Chartered Accountants. He comes across a beautiful woman posing for a painting, and thinks she is poor and needy, and gives her a tip. The woman's name is Anita, and both are attracted to each other. Sunil and Anita intend to marry, and Sunil even introduces Anita to his mom. One day when attending a party, Sunil is shocked to learn that Anita is a multi-millionaire. Stunned at this deception, he swears he will have nothing to do with her. When Anita attempts to sooth things over, Sunil does cool down. It is then he finds out that Anita's dad, who is serving time, had killed his father, and that Anita mother is still alive, after making her living as a former prostitute.

Jeevanlal lives in a small village in India with his wife, Sita, a son, Dharmchand and daughter, Meena, and makes a living by stealing. One day he steals from the Tehsildar's home, returns to his home and hides the stolen property with his son. When the police arrive, Dharma hands over the stolen articles to them, they arrest Jeevanlal, he is found guilty, and sent to prison. Years later, Dharma has grown up but his dad hates him. Then one day both father and son get into a fight over selling the cow, Jeevanlal strikes his son, and Dharma takes a stick to defend himself. Sita intervenes, scolds Dharma for daring to attack his father, and asks him to leave. Dharma leaves home, goes to Bombay, finds work with a building contractor, earns money and sends his savings to his mother. Then one day Sita receives a letter from Dharma that he is returning home. She goes to the bus-stand to greet him, but is told that he is already gone home. When she reaches home she is shocked to find her husband lying dead in a pool of blood and her son standing over his dead body with a bloodied axe. The police arrest Dharma and he is held for trial. It is then that the truth will come out what really transpired between father and son that compelled one to kill the other.

One of her students is a child named Muni, whose dad is a widower, Ravi (Shammi Kapoor). Since their circumstances are similiar, they become very close, and eventually decide to marry. But Ravi's mom )Achla Sachdev) objects to this marriage, and accuses Sheetal of being a woman of questionable means. In the meantime, a villager, Mahuva (Aruna Irani) commits suicide, and the villagers point the finger at Ravi, on whom Mahuva had a crush. Was Ravi two-timing Sheetal?

In desperate need of a job, unemployed Ravi (Jeetendra) goes to his maternal uncle (A.K. Hangal) and aunt (Leela Mishra) in their village for a few days. The region under Maharaj Singh's control is under-going drought and famine-like conditions, and the Maharaj orders that the treasury be made open so that his public does not suffer. His orders are not followed by his Senapati, Dhurjan Singh, and Mahamantri. When Singh finds out and confronts them, they kill him. They send their men after the Maharani and the Rajkumar, Amar Singh, however, Sher Khan helps them to escape. They hide Amar in Bhagwan Shri Ganesh's temple, and a poor gypsy couple find and adopt him. In the meantime Sher Khan and a devastated Maharani start organizing a rebellion amongst the people. They gather together an army and start training them. Dhurjan passes away and he leaves behind a son, Vikram, and a daughter, Padmavati. Vikram assumes the throne and he is even more cruel than his dad. In the meantime, Amar has also grown up, has fallen in love with Padmavati and would like to marry her. His foster mother has a secret to share with him, but before that could happen, Amar is captured by Vikram's men, held and tortured in a prison cell, and finally he must meet his death when he is to be trampled by the feet of an elephant.

One day he meets and falls in love with Salma Banarsi, a Banaras-based Courtesan. When his parents arrange his marriage with his foreign-returned cousin, Mumtaz, he informs them that he loves Salma and incurs their displeasure so much so that his dad shoots him, and he gets hospitalized. When he recovers fully he is shocked to find that Salma has not only accepted Iqbal as her lover, but has also taken a lot of money and jewelry from his mother. He takes to alcohol in a big way and swears to exact vengeance against Salma by getting married to Mumtaz and forcing Salma to sing and dance at his wedding.

Sewakram goes to meet with Mr. Shastri to finalize their marriage and after doing so he returns to the construction site and is gravely injured when an entire floor collapses. Nirmala finds out that the accident was Kishore's fault and refuses to have to do anything with him. Kishore attempts to woe her back, but before he could succeed he is arrested by the Police and held in a cell, while Nirmala's family arranges her marriage with wealthy Mohabbat Rai, her new employer and the owner of Mohabbat Rai Drapers.
